This week I know is a busy one in a lot of homes. It’s Christmas time, it’s school holidays, it’s a lot to pack into a few days, and I know that it makes it really hard to get time to create.  It’s so easy to get swept up by the big things. The big moments that this time of year brings, and often times it makes me feel a bit anxious knowing there’s so much going on and so many things to remember and do. So I try, this time of year more than usual, to take time out and focus on the the little things.

It can be as simple as taking a minute to watch the snow falling softly, or just disconnecting from devices and enjoying a coffee or a hot chocolate or even just getting your hands into some cookie dough and spending an hour or so baking up a storm. Those little moments that make up our days are just as important as the big moments.

For me I like to look at the little things, to see things as someone the size of a lego man. It changes the way I see the world, makes me pay attention to how the world works and what it looks like. It gives me a chance to enter a different world that still looks like my own. I like to create these images to bring people with me on this different perspective.

For my image for this week’s theme I wanted to show my love of “being little” but to show the little things that make me happy too. A quiet moment with a story, a bit of a break from the hustle and bustle that this time of year brings.
